One of the campaign co-chairs for Denison, Mary Jane's interview provided compelling emotional moments of connection with the alumni audience. Shot on location in San Francisco.

This photo was shot as part of a timelapse photography and video shoot of a Denison sunrise. I went to the location for two successive dawns -- the first to find precise camera placement so that the sun would come up through the window of the cupola. I shot this with my Nikon digital camera (currently I use a D300) while my Bolex 16mm rig was shooting a timelapse shot, and my video camera was rolling on the same scene. This image was also used for the cover of the Denison Admissions DVD which we produced at Ztories.
While shooting the planned shots for the annual report, I noticed this scene and when I finished my other dutues I asked the people to come back for one last shot before I left for the airport. Using a chimera to restrict falloffi, I blew light through the gridwork of the computer rack to emulate the fainter glow that I had noticed when these two workers had been looking at the monitor. The guy in the background was bending his knees to get his eyes into the cone of light and align the two people perspective/wise!
For the Northwest Technical College viewbook, we shot in 5 different cities across Minnesota to capture the programs, people, and facilities of this 2-year institution. This one was designed to feature a marketing prof whose students had been successful in the workplace. It combines strobe and long shutter speed to add a little texture to her hand movements as she spoke. I shot it the old-fashioned way on a Hasselblad 2-1/4 camera with Ektachrome 100.
This world-famous executive (recently selected as the most powerful man in sports) spoke plainly and forcefully about his love for Denison. This is the key benefit of Ztories-style interviews: unleashing the power of your people to bring your message to the screen.
